I’m back

My apologies for the delay with the posts… but there was a good reason for that! I was working on something for my little cousin, little… she is taller than me… and she celebrated her 15th birthday this last weekend! She wanted me to produce somethings to her birthday… she did one of that big and fancy parties, everybody in black-ties and lots of champagne.
Well, I will stop writing and show the first thing, wasn’t hard to do, but i think the effect was good! This short (10 sec) video was to her entrance in the PARTY MODE:

I think the final product was pretty decent.

I mixed the traditional Fox entrance music with the Lion roar of MGM. I also produced her pictures šŸ™‚

Well the second and more difficult task that she asked me to do was a banner 1,60m x 1,40 with “something nice.”

We all know that something nice is too random… so I though on something that would give me lot’s of work of course :p

Check the banner out:

Over 60 photos in this banner.

This was an attraction in the party, because almost everyone that was there also was in a picture. So everybody looked and tried to find themselves on it. If you’re interested in, there are several photos of me very young… if you open the photo bigger you can try to find me. One clue: I’m not white and I have the same eyebrown. šŸ˜›

Well I’ll start to write more often! My Canadian audience it’s weak… I have to increase my IMC in Canada :p

Obrigado, ttyl.

Brazilian soccer game

That’s one thing everybody knows about Brazil. We are crazy and good at it. Brazilian soccer is really exciting, and really cool, sometimes. But this week we had an AMAZING game, face melting as Diego would say.
Internacional (my Club) played against Flamengo (Rio de Janeiro Club.)

We are playing the BRAZILIAN CUP a death-match championship style. This was the second game for the quarter-final; the first one was in RIO and it ended up 0x0. Both teams played extremely well in the first match and everything was going to be decided here, in my hometown PORTO ALEGRE!

If this second game ended up 0x0 we would have penalty. If we had any other draw with score my team was DONE! So we HAD to win to be sure that we were going forward in the cup.

Now, please take a look in the video I made, yes I’m doing a lot of videos lately lol, just trying to make things exciting. This video tells the story of the game. I recorded most part of it with my digital camera, and used other scenes from the television. So I hope you like it because it shows a little bit of how we are CRAZY, NUTS, RETARDELY ADDICTED, to soccer.

Some extra info: There were almost 50 thousand yess 50.000 people in the stadium. Me and my brother arrived 7p.m in the stadium and the game only started 10 p.m. People cryed when the other team scored; yes, the score was in the last minute, 44, and the refery only finished the game on 50 minutes.

That’s it for now,

Obrigado, ttyl.

Brazilian Pine

Culture is winning in the poll, so I decided to start my new challenge… write about things that I know for ever (brazilian pine)… and try to make it entertaining!

As I said before, winter is starting here, and we have a lot of habits when this time of the year arrive. This is a very souther habit by the way, here where I live we are used to eat “PINHƃO”(/pi’É²ÉĆ£Å©/) in English I found several ways to say it so I will say them all:

Pinion, Araucaria Seeds and Monkey-puzzle seeds. This is similar to large pine nuts… but different, take a look in the tree that it grows:

pinee

They grow alone very tall in the woods, it’s very beautiful

These trees are incredible, some people say they are living fossils! their average size is 40m long and 1m thick.

We can find in this trees, around them actually, big green balls that have the pine nut inside. Look the way they are inside the ball, it’s very interesting!

bocha

These are the seeds of the tree, and we eat it šŸ˜€

Well now, to exercise, I produced a little video to show the steps to prepare the Brazilian pine nuts.

I hope you liked it! Please leave a comment to say if I’m going in a good direction šŸ™‚ and if you’re liking it, or not.

Obrigado, ttyl

Arrival

So, letā€™s start finally! I had some major problems with the technical part of the blogā€¦ As Brook would whisper in class: ā€œTechnical difficultiesā€
Well I left Canada April 30th 11:30am, I arrived in Porto Alegre, my hometown, April 1st around 5pmā€¦ It was a long trip but I was very excited about arriving home so I wasnā€™t even tired that afternoon. As I have been speaking English so often in the past months I said more than once Thank you and Sorry other than Obrigado and Desculpa to Brazilians and they looked at me like: ā€œWeirdoā€ :p

It was a warm, Latino, welcome! Pretty much all my family was in the airportā€¦ with cameras and hugs waiting for me.

Circle of people around me and my gf

That’s my mom šŸ˜€

After the Airport we all went to my Dadā€™s house to have a BRAZILIAN BARBECUE! The one I talked so much aboutā€¦ I will write a post on Brazilian Barbecue later on. I want to show some pictures that I took specially to post here šŸ™‚

Look the size of my smile… it’s bigger than the ribs… :p

šŸ™‚

Please keep voting in the poll! If you go to the PHOTOS page you can see more pictures of my arrival in POA.
Tomorrow I will write about the city that I live and some cool things to better contextualize everybody.

Obrigado ttyl.
